Greece submits final payment requests under the Recovery and Resilience Facility
In the presence of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the 9th and final grant payment request and the 8th and final loan payment request under Greece’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, “Greece 2.0,” were submitted today to the European Commission at the offices of the Special Coordination Service for the Recovery and Resilience Facility.
The two requests, covering a total of 123 milestones and targets, will pave the way for the disbursement of €6.75 billion, comprising €4.4 billion in grants and €2.35 billion in loans. The two previous payment requests are also currently under assessment by the European Commission and will allow for the release of an additional €4.55 billion.
The submission of the final payment requests successfully concludes Greece’s five-year national effort to secure the timely disbursement of Recovery and Resilience Facility funds. The effort resulted in the achievement of 376 milestones and targets, demonstrating the country’s capacity to design and implement multi-year reform and investment plans while meeting strict deadlines.
By completing all required milestones and prerequisites on time, Greece will have received the full amount allocated to it—€35.95 billion, representing the highest amount relative to GDP among the 27 Member States of the European Union.
