It covers\u00a0<strong>reforms<\/strong>\u00a0in areas including accelerating the administration of justice, expanding broadband connection, improving waste and water management, increasing mental healthcare facilities, improving the system for VAT refunds, and enhancing the effectiveness of public procurement.<\/p>\n<p>The request also covers important\u00a0<strong>investments<\/strong>\u00a0in urban regeneration, industrial sites for green industries, more affordable housing, residential energy upgrades, the capacity of the electricity network, reforestation and firefighting, and wastewater projects.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission will now assess the request and will then send its preliminary assessment of Greece&#8217;s fulfilment of the milestones and targets required for this payment to the Economic and Financial Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Greece&#8217;s overall Recovery and Resilience Plan will be financed by \u20ac35.9 billion, of which \u20ac18.2 billion are in grants and \u20ac17.7 million are in loans.<\/p>\n<p>More information on the Greek recovery and resilience plan, including an interactive map of projects and investments under the RRF, can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/commission.europa.eu\/business-economy-euro\/economic-recovery\/recovery-and-resilience-facility\/country-pages\/greeces-recovery-and-resilience-plan_en\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today, the Commission has received the fifth payment request from Greece for\u00a0\u20ac1.35 billion\u00a0in grants (net of pre-financing), and\u00a0\u20ac1.78 billion\u00a0in loans (net of pre-financing) under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
